War, What Has It Been Good For?

April 26, 2009

Since the war began in Iraq on March 19th,2003, over 4280 US soldiers have died, a lot of life lost, and that is not including the 3000+ American deaths of September 11th, 2001. The plan proposed to Americans was to invade Afghanistan and take out the cave dwelling evil known as Al Qaeda and their leader Osama Bin Laden. Then this morphed into invading Iraq, removing Saddam Hussein, and the weapons of mass destruction he possessed. Today we have accomplished the second part of that mission; we invaded Iraq, took out Saddam, and discovered that there were no weapons of mass destruction to begin with.

Today, we are still in Iraq with plans to never fully leave and the question remains, at what cost did this unnecessary was cost in the way of human life?

To this day, Osama Bin Laden has not been caught. He has also never been charged with the crimes of 9/11 by the US, due to lack of evidence.

Over 1.3 million Iraqis Dead. Has it been worth it? Should we stay in Iraq?
